Keeping Your Autonomy in a World Full of Control

# Last Night I Had an Experience That Reminded Me That Staying Free and Autonomous is a Top Priority. # I have been a full time entrepreneur for six years. This freedom has been one of the best decisions I could have made in my life. Almost five years ago @AnaHilarski joined me on this journey. Over the years many different companies have tried to convince us that we should come work for them full time. We have resisted that temptation with ease! Once again a business owner tried to lure us away from our life of 100% autonomy. I don't blame them for wanting us to work for their company exclusively. This is a natural desire for entrepreneurs. We want people to be loyal to our endeavors. This is one of the reasons why I find it so difficult to find quality people to work for us. So we have decided to work with contractors instead. ## The Freedom To Fire Clients. ## This one might seem odd but I find joy in firing clients. We have had many clients over the years that we don't gel with. We have high expectations for our clients that many just don't live up to. We have found that 50% or so will not last longer than six months. If we worked for a company then we would be subject to their will and would probably be fearful of them letting us go.

### There are many reasons why clients leave. ### ### 1. The most common is that they can't afford us any longer. ### ### 2. They only wanted a temporary boost online. ### ### 3. They don't feel that we have been effective. ### ### 4. They don't live up to our expectations and we let them go. ### ### 5. The business relationship is not working out. ## Guarding Your Reputation. ## Often clients want to use our brand to promote theirs. I don't have a problem with this because we offer it as part of our packages but when a client says to you, "I think we have used up all of your influence, we don't seem to be getting any more sales", you tend to get a little peeved. This actually happened with a client of two years here in Panama.

When a client does not live up to our expectations, we let them know. We would rather take less or lose a client rather than deal with an upset client. Some people will not listen to you no matter how hard you try. Then there are the ask holes. These are the clients who ask you a million questions. We just don't have time for these types of clients. Sometimes they want to learn how we do business. I can sense these types from a distance and tell them to read my Steemit blog. ## What We Do When a Client Wants to Hire Us Full Time. ## 1. I ignore the offer as long as I can. 2. I let the client know that we are not interested. 3. Many will flash the cash, they don't realize that money is not our motivation, freedom is our goal. 4. I do my best to not offend, most people can understand our reasons because theirs are the same. 5. Some just want to control and these types we generally have to let go. ## Why [$200 Social](http://200social.com) is so Different Than Other Social Media Marketing Companies. ## We are in this game to win. We don't believe in second place trophies. When our clients win we win. We do whatever it takes to help clients get their names in lights. Sometimes a client is not willing to go as far as we want them to go, that is fine. They just have to understand that we guided them and they chose to not take our advice. We work our butts off trying to find hacks in social media that give us an advantage and we pass it along to our clients. We are the social media marketing brand that makes social media similar to a commodity. You choose the plan and we implement within days. We employ the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid).
